This Privacy Policy describes how AnswerReady / JAM Coach handles information when you use the app on iPhone, iPad, and macOS.
Overview
AnswerReady is a structured speaking-practice app for interviews and meetings. The app is designed to keep recordings private by default and store practice data in app-controlled storage unless you explicitly use cloud-backed features.
Information We Handle
Information stored on your device
When you use the app, it may store the following locally on your device:
- audio or video practice recordings
- session metadata such as scenario, framework, duration, pacing, and completion results
- saved session titles and notes
- transcripts and transcript-derived feedback when speech-based processing succeeds
- progress history, weekly consistency, streak, and review-funnel state
- reminder preferences and some permission state
Saved sessions and recordings are intended to remain available until you delete them from the app.
Information used only if you enable optional features
Speech recognition
If you enable speech-based transcript feedback, the app may use Apple speech technologies to generate transcripts. Depending on Apple platform behavior and your device settings, speech processing may involve Apple services.
Cloud coaching
If you:
- have access to Pro coaching,
- explicitly allow cloud coaching, and
- request coaching for a session,
the app may send the following to the coaching backend:
- transcript text
- original prompt text
- selected scenario/framework context
- objective feedback metrics
- RevenueCat app user identifier for entitlement verification
Cloud coaching requests are processed through the production backend at:
https://answerready-coaching-worker.androidoine.workers.dev
The backend may call:
- OpenAI, to generate the structured coaching response
- RevenueCat, to verify that your
Proentitlement is active
Raw audio and raw video recordings are not uploaded for cloud coaching.
Subscription information
Purchases and subscription status are handled through Apple and RevenueCat. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier and entitlement state so the app can determine whether Pro features are available.
How We Use Information
We use the information handled by the app to:
- run the core practice loop
- store and replay your saved sessions
- generate objective feedback
- generate transcript-based feedback when enabled
- provide cloud coaching when explicitly requested and permitted
- restore purchases and verify Pro access
- support reminders, progress history, and review prompts
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We only share information with service providers when required to run optional features you choose to use:
- Apple for platform services such as purchases, speech features, notifications, and in-app review prompts
- RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement verification
- OpenAI through the coaching backend, only for transcript-based cloud coaching requests you explicitly trigger
Retention
- Locally stored sessions, recordings, transcripts, and notes remain on your device until deleted or removed by app lifecycle events.
- Temporary files used for processing may be cleaned up automatically.
- Backend providers may retain request data according to their own policies and your service configuration.
Your Choices
You can:
- choose Audio Mode or Video Mode
- deny or revoke microphone, camera, speech, and notification permissions
- avoid cloud coaching entirely and keep using the local practice loop
- delete saved sessions from the app
- manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple
Children
AnswerReady is not directed to children under 13.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app and services evolve. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above.
